We do not have a single midfielder capable of scoring regularly. As talented as Ozil is, he is a garbage finisher. Santi and Wilsh were solid in front of goal, but are both obviously finished as Arsenal players.

We need Mahrez badly.

We should stop d*cking around with Lemar and sign Mahrez. He is skillful, technically astute, has premier league experience and can play anywhere behind the Striker which gives us options. FFS i find it baffling that we have Mahrez who is ready to move to Arsenal and is the kind of player we need yet we seem to be not showing any worthwhile interest in him off late.

mahrez is limited and can only really play as a winger. been shit 80% of times he was deployed as a number 10 bar a good game against atletico

lemar is more versatile, can potentially play as a CM and most importantly is a better footballer and younger

If we try for Mahrez we will get him but we keep fecking around looking for Lemar who seems to have a Lukaku range price tag on him there is a good chance we will end up with neither. In the 3-4-2-1 we are employing we do not rely on a traditional No-10. It is good news Ozil has comfortably slot himself in our current setup. We need a Wide man and a CM. If we sign Mahrez we will have funds left to recruit a CM as well even if Sanchez ends up staying.

We're not going to sign Lemar even if Wenger wants to spend.

We might get Mahrez if Wenger actually tried to sign him.

We won't get either in the end.

Its probably because we don't want him. Lemar will be our usual saga and it will end in loan for some jobber and a panic buy if we lose opening match.

This looks like the likely outcome. However, would either transform us?

Gazidis with his usual, initial, aggressive talk, Media rubbish reports of 'Arsene and Arsenal being serious, this Summer'......it is just the usual spin.

Preparing myself for the obligatory, '...happy with the Squad' and, '....being competitive in all competitions...' nonsense.

I think it's pretty obvious with this deal here..

There isn't any substantial interest in Mahrez, from any club, at this point... so as the days go by - his price slowly drops.

And already being a PL starter for 2 full seasons, I doubt there's a risk of "adapting to the league". So, theoretically of course, he wouldn't need as much "preseason squad-gelling time" as, say, a young player arriving for the first time from outside the EU.

Classic Wenger signing this.... still dont expect it to happen

Case of Mahrez & Leicester overperforming in terms of expected goals scored & conceded rather than a true sign of ability
