Riyad Mahrez

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Interesting. Shows a few things:
1. Wenger wants to upgrade the right flank despite Walcott's presence. Doesn't seem to place much faith in Ox.
2. He's still looking to add to our goal threat
3. He'd have been willing to spend another 30-40 mil for the right player.
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.

I think we were interested in Mahrez when we were interested in selling Walcott, latter didn't materialise so neither did the former.

On the contrary, his quote says the opposite.

Looks like wanted to come and would have gladly come if Arsenal met Lecister's buyout price. LCFC purposely set a high price because they wanted to keep him. Buyout price was not in Mahrez's hands.

This would also explain, as I had been saying over the summer, why Riyadh did not sign a new LCFC deal until close to deadline, when it was pretty much confirmed that Arsenal would not meet LCFC's price and LCFC would not budge because they needed to keep him after losing Kante. If he wanted to reject Arsenal he could have done so very early in the transfer window by signing that LCFC contract.

I don't think Wenger will sign anyone this January unless its a proper cheapy junior or something.

We have a que for starters already, no way he adds another first team candidate.

We can probably get him on a cheap now especially if Leicester go down.

Thing that bugs me is that he's so one footed

If we manage to keep Alexis and bring in Mahrez every defender knows what to do
