Failed at Man Utd, bang average at WBA

After Silvestre and Welbeck can we risk another failed ex Manc?

Are you implying Evans is better than Koscielny?

Sky reporting that we've negotiated today but we've not been close to what West Prom want.

They also said we should keep an eye on this one, it's not over yet.

Lets see.

Would take him if we can get him for £20-30m. He's only just turned 30 and has a good few years left in him yet.

Can also then devote our summer transfer funds on a defensive midfielder and goalkeeper.

Yeh but theyll have no choice but to sell in the summer because he'll have one year left on his deal. Suit themselves, theyll have to do it at some point though.

We need someone to replace kos/mustafi, not more cover.

Not tonight I’m afraid. Pardew just confirmed he’s at home with a hamstring injury.

Is it actually our CB's that are shit, or is it the horrible coaching and team defense that makes two otherwise decent defenders look so bad?

A season or two ago some strikers were calling Kos the best CB in the league. What happened?

I think it's personally more to do with the coaching, but who knows for sure.

 Old age...thats what happened. Two years is a long time in football he is 32! now, he has got 1 year of top flight football in him at max. Been a great servant for us and kept our back four together when he played. Shame we couldnt get other defenders like him to give us a solid defence.

It's the system and Mustafi being too alike with Kos. Ideally we can find a Mertesacker with some pace.

imo its nothing to do with coaching, its personal. You can have all the defenders in the world, if you dont have the right personal your defence will always leak goals due to individual mistakes and lapses of concentration. PERIOD.

All of our conceded goals against swansea were from simple lapses in concentration, not our defensive structure. For an attacking team our defensive structure is not too bad, when our defenders are concentrated they can defend like they showed against chelsea.

Is it personnel though? Bellerin, Kosc, Mustafi and Nacho is a good back four on paper, certainly should be doing a lot better than they are right now.
