If you want to play stupid then thats fine but he had the likes of City, Bayern, Barca and Madrid strongly interested in him. Instead he chose a Monaco side that is falling apart.

Its not really that bad a move.

He gets to start every game for the French league champions.

He does well, he gets to establish himself for real on the world stage.

He's at a selling club that won't mind cashing in eventually, maybe even next season.

Just think about the amount of players in his position that end up getting mugged off by a big club that took a fancy during a window, only to see them pushed into the loan merry go round or worse, the bench.

He completed the transfer before Monaco sold their first player, I think. It will be interesting to see how they will hold up without some of their main players. Their scouting team is spot on, but it's not an easy task for sure to replace all these players.

He himself disagrees.

He's still only 20 and deliberately chose Monaco as a stepping stone before moving to a big club. The guy needs to play as much football as possible and gets the opportunity to shine in the CL again.

He wouldn't get that chance at the Evertons and Southamptons of this world and didn't want to jeapordise his development by moving to a top 4 club just yet.

Best move he could have made. Very level-headed kid with a healthy dose of self reflection.

Honestly think he would be the best move he could've made, could've taken a similar route to Cesc and been the hub of our team imo. He'd get a chance here for sure but good luck to him at Monaco..a player I like a lot.

he didnt want to move to any other club. Kid is very smart and wanted a middle step before going to a big club. Teams like united and city wanted him as well
