3 goals in 32 games in La Liga over the last 3 years.

Slightly better in the Bundesliga - 4 goals whilst on loan over 18 games last year.

Hardly prolific no matter where he goes.

I know hes really dipped since he was first at Frankfurt, but how many minutes is he playing in these appearances, his confidence is probably shot, hes a gamble worth taking i think, considering we can send him packing if hes crap.

outside of him, everyone else will cost silly money and other than Schlick whos attainable (who i'd love), nobody else is within our budget.

He must have something. Real Madrid only buy certain types of player. If they use them or not is a different story.

My first choice would still be Ivan Toney for now, to get us out of this hole we have dug ourselves. Then get a top striker in the summer if we get CL football.

There is some merit in waiting until the end of the season, risking that we make the CL places.
Jovic would need to really perform though… it’s a bit of a Hail Mary.

With Aubameyang having rocked up across the Spanish divide at Barca, and his compatriot Vlahovic having side stepped us to hook up with an Old Lady instead, wouldn't it just tickle the God of irony's bollocks for Jovic to do an Odegaard and resurrect his once spectacular form at the Emirates for less than half the price, whilst at the same time being another example to the likes of a Saka or Martinelli as well as those at Hale End preparing to knock at the first team changing room doors.

Arsenal and Everton are vying for the signature of Real Madrid striker Jovic - according to Marca.

Both clubs could move for the 24-year-old in the summer as they seek to bolster their respective attacking ranks.

Jovic is under contract at Real until 2025, but they are open to a sale with the Serbian having failed to live up to expectations since joining the club from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.

Everton material. He hasn't played regular football in a few years now. Only time was when Real loaned him back to Frankfurt. Or was it Union Berlin?

Either way, we'd be asking way too much of him to transition and adapt to the PL.

We need two strikers if Lacazette and Nketiah leave, don't we?

Squad numbers, strikers actually score goals, that is no longer an Arsenal requirement it seems

From Reddit:

https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2022/03/22/6239bfcde2704ebb358b45f2.html

Los motivos por los que no juegan Bale, Hazard, Jovic y Mariano

English Summary:

The reasons why Bale, Hazard, Jovic and Mariano don't play: Bale: Madrid is not his priority. Hazard: good attitude, but far from Vini, Rodrygo and Asensio. Jovic: ghost in the locker room and not good enough. Mariano: not at required level, and earns more than double of Vinicius (marca.com)

Doesn't seem like the right kind of character we need. His confidence is very low after spending this long at Madrid. We have to wonder why no one moved for him in the summer...it was pretty clear he wasn't going to play much even then.

For as much as I do believe that one of either Mika Biereth or Folarin Balogun ought to be part of the first team squad for next season not as the plan B striking option but in gaining experience, confidence and familiarity with a handful of substitute appearances and run outs in the league cup, I'm also positive that recruiting Luka Jovic to ride shotgun besides Darwin Nunez will add much needed fangs and incisors to our attacking bite.

Whilst Ceballos was seemingly writing DNR above his bed on a night time, we do indeed seem to have a white and blue defibrillator machine as used to resuscitate the career of Martin Odegaard from the stupor of Los Blancos.

Yeah, signing those two together would be brilliant!
