You not a fan? Tbf I remember his time at athletico when he was tearing it up, he could be a completely different player now. Having said that, at 25 he's got ages to recapture his form and grow with us.

This is the prime age we should be looking at for at a min

Google translate version of Kristof Terreur's article for HLN -

After Youri Tielemans another Red Devil in the Premier League?

His environment does not dare to predict what will happen in the next 48 hours, but Arsenal is considering activating the Yannick Carrasco (25) track. At first they want to sign him on loan from Dalian Yifang.

At first it was a 'no'. Then a 'maybe'. Now it is 'yes'. At Arsenal they finally admit that Carrasco is a target. The Red Devil, unhappy in China, was offered at The Gunners last month, but they did not bite immediately. Other priorities. One of them: Ivan Perisic, ex-Club Brugge. He wants to get away from Inter. Arsenal tried to convince the Italian club in the past few days to rent with an option, but an agreement is far away. That is why Arsenal looks at alternatives. So Carrasco, who at Inter was the first choice to replace Perisic. Arsenal has explained the first lines. "Everything is still possible", it sounds in the entourage of Carrasco. "We are hoping for a good outcome." Inter or Arsenal?

Carrasco's Chinese club Dalian Yifang is willing to cooperate on a rental with purchase option. The midfielder never felt at home, despite the pennies, and at the end of last year he broke the nose of a team mate after training. "Yannick has a lot of respect for his club Dalian, but his family is ahead," said agent Christophe Henrotay in the past few days. "They have a hard time adapting to a completely different culture, which means that at the moment he can not focus on football for the full 100%. Dalian appreciates his honesty and is therefore inclined to listen to offers from interested clubs. "

He was very good at Atletico, if he can rediscover some of that magic he'd be an upgrade on Iwobi that's for sure.

Lets be honest, we could probably randomly pick 5 members on this forum that would be an upgrade to Iwobi.

I was a fan when he was at Atletico too but I’m a bit put off by his most recent YouTube videos. if we’re getting someone to play out wide, we need someone who can dribble, is direct, and most importantly (for me) has pace. I think Zenith mentioned it earlier but he seems to have lost his pace and energy. He can get away with this in the Chinese league but the PL is a different kind of animal.

Atm, Suarez will be more of an influential signing imo but who knows he’s still at a good age, as you said, and as a natural winger, emery’s system might reinvigorate his career

If anything i am more confident now, considering how shit Gazidis was at getting anything done here.

Honestly, modern era Milan is the type of club you expect to see players like YFC at. Washed up, on loan, not challenging for any cup, one step away from retirement. The fact that he's still only 25 is the major shock here.

That said, I think him on loan is lower risk than 29yo Perisic (better player for sure) getting 250k pw with a possible £35m buying obligation.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if this one happens.

Suarez and Carrasco on loan in the same January window. Can’t ask for much more than that

Tbf its going to be like this especially for the upper tier players.

Lets have it right, you can't buy a Ferrari with marbles .......... and marbles is all we're offering.

We're lucky to get anything considering.

Yeah I knew from the go this was a long shot. Shame would have been interesting to see what he could do for us.
