Giroud plays with his back to goal, is used for hold up play, is very good in the air but not very mobile and not a great finisher with his feet.

Icardi is a poacher and uses his mobility to score goals. Also much better finisher than Giroud.

Their play styles seem complementary, not similar.

Thats what I thought. Also he's more physical than most poachers and at 5'11 isn't exactly short.

Things sure have changed a lot [emoji23]

Apparently Wana is flying to London to discuss a possible move.

Nothing new. She has been setting up meetings with other teams all summer to get a new contract from Inter for her husband.

They dont want to leave Inter.

They just want more $$.

Inter, OTOH, has pretty much said that if some club comes to them with a massive offer, they will take it.

She needs to convince Wenger to shell out 75m for Icardi. Good luck! :rofll:

Arsene Wenger: Hello Wanda. We would like to discuss ze transfer of your husband
Wanda: I'm sure I could convince Inter to sell. We would like 180k per week
Wenger: But that is only for top, top, top, top, top, top quality. And your husband is only top, top quality
Wanda: 150k?
Wenger: Did I mention how close Stamford Bridge is to this place? Wonderful place.
Wanda: 140k?
Wenger: Spurs are building a new stadium.
Wanda: You pay Walcott that
Wenger: And that's why no one is ever getting ze 140 k per week again. Ever. It's banned at Arsenal
Wanda: 100k?
Wenger: Olympic stadium is nice, but funded with ze tax payer money. They play some beautiful football now
Wanda: 70k?
Wenger: Deal

Calls Inter
Arsene: I heard you are selling ze top, top talent with good finishing, Icardi
Inter: 75 million

Two weeks later
Reporter: Are you looking for a striker?
Arsene: I believe we have lots of top, top quality there. We have Theo Walcott, okay not him, scratch him, we have Giroud, we have Sanogo, Akpom, Theo, okay not Theo, Campbell, Sanchez can play there, top, top quality, Welbeck will be back soon too. We do not want to effect ze cohesion of the team or ze development of the youngsters. Did I tell you how we have so many of ze strikers that we'd be happy to donate Walcott for free to any club?

The problem is price. Inter is asking for an outrageous amount.

If this is the kind of player Wenger wants to bring in, he can get Chicharito for around 1/4 of Icardi's asking price.

I dont want Chicharito. I am just saying you can get close to Icardi's performance for a lot less money.

His performance today against Spurs is why I think it would be mad if we looked at him. Absolutely nothing but a poacher. On the ball he is worse than Giroud. Super limited player. We should have signed Jansen for 15 million pound instead of spurs. Now we shot us self in the foot again

That is correct. Icardi is in fact not a good passer and he cannot get past players on his own. You have to feed him.

We have plenty of feeders, we need a poacher to put them away!

But as I said earlier, if its a poacher you want, you dont need to spend 65m on one.

You can get Chicharito for far less.
