Arsenal could be given the chance to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, 27, as a direct replacement for Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang, 30, is out of contract next season, while Argentine Icardi is currently on loan at Paris St-Germain. (Tuttosport via Teamtalk)

Never wanted him. Need a bit of class at the club but with Arteta here and icardi being a c*** and difficult to handle, he might make Arteta quit.

Bring him home.

If we have no choice regarding Auba, then yeah, if not no.

Chances are being a Argey international he will want stupid wages also so it makes sense just to pay Auba what he wants.

OK, so we swap out a disciplined, hard-working world class forward for a mercenary who forced his way out of Inter with an agent who used to be an ex-Page Six tramp in Argentina. What could go wrong?

Some context.

In an interview after his sacking, Peter Bosz specifically mentioned Aubemeyang was one of his most disciplined players. In the same interview he mentioned Auba had a verbal agreement with Dortmund about him being allowed to leave at the end of the 2016-17 season.

When it finally got to that point, Dortmund made a U-turn and told Aubemeyang he wasn't going anywhere. It was only then that PEA felt like he had been played and rebelled his way out of the club.

I'm not trying to excuse how he conducted himself in the weeks/days prior to his transfer, but the notion of him being an Adebayor-type of mercenary is far from correct.

Also, whilst he's also represented by relatives, there is no evidence Auba's career is controlled by an imperious agent, which—in Ícardi's case—is his own spouse.

It's the only thing he's known for. He's a massive c***.

Yes, we should only sign clean and honest players like Xhaka, Mustafi, Mkhitaryan, and Lichtsteiner. Let's get more of those Welbecks and less of the Aubas and Icardis.

Not advocating for Icardi's acquisition obviously.

But we could do a lot worse. Apart from Auba, we have zero world class players today. In all of Wenger's reign, that was never the situation. Even in 12/13, we had one Sagna. In fact, we'd have to go since before Graham to find an Arsenal side without a world class player.
