He still has problems with his knee and also another problem with his ankle.

Maybe we should go for Konate :sneaky2:

Should we have signed him instead of Pepe?

We should have signed him regardless, but if it had to be one, imo it needed to be a winger.

Sokratis is at least competent for the most part, as is holding.

However, our best WF was iwobi which is insane. People are panicking hard over Pepe atm for some reason but I don't really get it other than he hasn't scored in 2 games but that's a weak argument.

If you look at both his performances as a whole, he has struck fear into opposition managers. Rose couldn't push on once today. He caused problems in and around their area and finished the game with an assist.

He also had some great shots on target that needed lloris at full capacity to keep out. He will score and kick on. Him being so advanced took a lot of pressure off AMN.

We stiffen up defence with upamenco, and we have practically no threat from the wings like last year and get pinned back constantly.

We went with pepe and CBs are making the same mistakes that had us looking at upamenco in the first place.

Really tough choice but think on the whole it'll work out anyway.

We 100% have to go in for him in January though. He'll have 18 months left on his contract so the same bid could actually make them flinch especially if his head is turned now.

I was trying to figure out why AMN had such a composed game and now it has clicked. He didn’t appear to be troubled at all during the match on Sunday due to Pépé pushing forward so much.

Clichy with arshavin
Bellerin Ramsey

Etc. Think how long we haven't had a genuine wide man in front of a proper athletic fullback.

Maybe young Henry/Reyes and Cole?

We would have to offload a few defenders for it to happen. We have 6 senior center backs right now.
