Home-grown rule. Without those 4, we only have Gibbs/Chesney (if he stays)/Martinez?

I think after every injury, given the amount of investment that's gone into them (more about time than money), he probably says to himself "surely this is the last big injury"...

Wilshere cam force his way into the team in a number of positions. If his fitness was in check then it wouldn't be debatable. He's a class act.

Probably the same would go for Walcott despite his obvious technical failings. Fact is he's a big game player now, and shows enough grit to warrant being on the pitch against the toughest of opposition. He's finishing can also be up there with some of the best.

With Ox it's more complicated. There's been so much chopping and changing, that even when he is fit, he's never an immediate 'go to' guy. Still don't think we can make a proper judgement until he has a real run of games.

With Ramsey it's about finding that balance in tactics and who he's partnered with. Given the needed additions, I don't feel he should be a starter in his current position, same would go for ANYONE we choose to play on the right.

They're all worth a bit of faith and investment at least. But there's no way Ox should be considered a starter, and there's no way that (even if in form) Walcott should be our main man up front. We need a talisman up front, a RW that can own the spot, and some balance in midfield.

The thing that infuriates me most, is that the #10 is being hogged by a crock who is not worthy of wearing the #10. Would rather they give it to Ozil and #11 for a new forward (Auba #9, Reus #11  )

Bellerin doesn't count yet as he is still U21, Calamity Chambers as well. Considering some of these players might be loaned out (Chambers,Ox?) We are cutting it thin without those 4.

6 is the minimum if you have a squad of 23, and 8 for 25.

So you can see why he would want to keep those players around. Although I would only keep Walcott from that batch of 4.

We can buy some inexpensive hoe grown players and put them on bench.

All our English players are expensive and paid much higher than they would at other teams. Arsenal is one of the best clubs for English players, they get paid insane wages regardless whether they perform, since they fulfill the homegrown rule.

That's why we never get rid of our mediocre English players, we give them insane wages and then makes it almost impossible for us to sell them when everyone notices that they're utter wank.

Why would they? When the smallest English PL clubs still pay more than top clubs from other countries? British players are spoiled and they are not leaving their comfortzone. Even if you fail at a top PL club, you can still easily transfer to another mid-table/relegation PL club and still maintain your riches, you don't have that luxury in other leagues.

Better DM than all the ones arsenal have been linked to can cover ground loves a tackle and is good with the ball makes you wonder what wenger and his staff in france have been scouting from france in recent years sign sanogo miss mahrez kante(better squad players) krychowiak who cost sevilla 3-4m this type of transfer wont happen till the summer surely wenger cant even fathom keeping arteta again how he managed to get an extension still baffles me look how ruthless wenger used to be once players used to the hit the 30/31 mark he literally thrown Gilberto out even though he wasn't at artetas stage of pointless.

Good point on Wenger & his change in philosophy. It's totally gone full circle with over 30's, as you say someone like Gilberto could easily have done another couple of seasons but was jettisoned as soon as he got to 30 but now crocks like Arteta & Rosicky are given new deals even though their usefulness on the field has diminished.
Krychowiak is exactly the type of player we need, tough & uncompromising DM who can also provide cover at centre half. Wenger will never pay the money being asked now for Krychowiak or Carvalho though, just don't think he prioritizes defensive positions like this sufficiently.

reported to cost £23mill. Would be a beast for us. No need for a new CB if we changed formation!
