If Eriksen can hack it strength-wise, so can Ísco. Having said that, he's not quick at all. If Ísco is quick, Jack is rapid, which he isn't. Quick enough for an attacking mid, yes. Quick enough for a Premier League winger, whilst taking into consideration his other traits? No.
Ísco is a flair player, technically sublime, but he has some serious weaknesses that are being overlooked - Real Madrid fans (not the glory-hunting, petulant kind) and Spanish pundits almost unanimously agree on that. If you look a bit further than his touch and flicks, his actual contributions and efficiency leaves a lot to be desired. Often caught hanging on to the ball for far too long, ending up dispossessed, unable to spot runs and disappear whenever he plays on the wing and has to take care of his defensive duties.
What's crucial for an attacking midfielder is knowing when to pick a pass and when to hold on to the ball, Ísco struggles with that. He can still grow as a player, but hasn't done any of that in recent years. Yet we want to spend £35-45m on what will be our second choice CAM and make-shift winger (- and not a very good one at that)? Not saying we should be cheapskates but that's a huge chunk of money you can spend on a player that suits our needs more.
Ísco needs a free, but central role behind the striker to excell and grow as a player, playing him on the wing consistently is a crime and the only reason that's the case now at Real Madrid is because he can't get into the team ahead of James.
caz - coq
isco - ozil - alexis

That caz/ozil/isco triangle is fully capable f dominating games and controlling them which is something we are lacking right now. Walcott could work well upfront in this lineup.
