Not at the prices suggested though

He is a good player, but he has a ton a attacking qualities that we never see because of teh process. I'd have been much more excited if this was Wenger signing him.

............ Im going to agree with you there.

This guy is a Wenger type player all over, Wenger would of just unleashed him and pushed him to play more expansive football and express himself.

As opposed to Arteta who just barks at the players telling them what blade of grass he wants them to run on.

The person tasked as our PR operative has clearly missed a trick here in not seeking sponsorship from Lynx, as pursuing this deal is really starting to smell of desperation to rival that of an 18 year old single lad on a night out 10 minutes before the club is going to close.

LOL, we've all been there.

Our transfer window is like a night 'on the pull' as a teenager.

Start off looking at the '10s' in May/June, try our luck with some 8s/9s when the window first opens only to be rejected, get drunk and try again with '+1p' for another '10'.

Then as the night/window goes on sometimes we get lucky with a 5 or a 6 (or even a 7) who has just been dumped and is on the rebound but isn't really into us.

And then, like you say, get to the end of the night and settle for just about anything that fills the voids in our squad.

People actually thought we had a chance signing this guy, including the manager, it’s laughable, you can’t build a team on loans.

Quite glad we're rid of him. TBH.
He was really average for us and I don't see any value in loans.
He may surprise me, but I suspect he'll fail at RM and end up somewhere else.

I thought we would sign him. He loves the manager, and the manager wants loyalists. If Zidane stayed at Real, Arteta would absolutely have pushed to sign him for £50m.

Arsenal remain interested in Norway midfielder Martin Odegaard, 22, after his loan spell last season and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is ready to pounce if Real Madrid are open to letting him go again. (Athletic - subscription required)

Martin Odegaard to Arsenal could be back on, according to Cadena Ser.

The Norwegian midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with the Gunners and is weighing up his options again as he remains down the pecking order at Real Madrid.

Yeah, there have been rumblings that he won't have a starting place when the season begins. And if you're on the bench at Real, you pretty much stay there unless someone has a season-long injury. Ancelotti's not going to babysit him, Real have way bigger problems that he'll be on the hook for if the season starts badly.

For the love of God, do not spend £50m bringing him here. Just loan him for a full season if necessary and pay a reduced fee next summer.

Why would he want to come back? ESR is better so he'd be a squad player. We don't even have european football meaning less squad rotation.
