Arsenal step up their interest in Roma ace Kostas Manolas

ARSENAL have renewed their interest in Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

The Greece international, 24, was on their radar last summer but Roma stepped in with an £11million bid to snap him up from Olympiacos.

And Manolas had a fine debut season with Roma, helping them finish second in Serie A.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with several defenders as he tries to boost his back-line.

Spurs had also put their hat in the ring but have since signed Kevin Wimmer, 22, from Cologne and Atletico Madrid’s Toby Alderweireld, 26.
