Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne, 23, if he impresses at this summer's World Cup for Italy. Metro

Has looked decent whenever I've seen him for club or country plus better than Giroud.

Born in Naples, from youth team of SSC Napoli, has a contract until 2018, almost feature every match his team played. Yeah, good luck with that

Insigne is not a striker so I don't understand that comparison.

I've watched Napoli for about 25 games this season and he's had pretty poor spells but he's one of the fan-favorites over there so Benitez was more patient with him.

Hasn't done anything to show he's worth the £30m (or more) they want for him, he's a £15m player at best atm and that's because he's still reasonably young (23).

Think he's one of those that can do a job in any of the 3 positions upfront.

He doesn't have the movement of a striker, he's 5 ft 4 so no hold up play and flufs quite a lot of chances. If he improves on his decision making, finishing and movement he could - maybe - (emphasis on maybe) some day play with another striker up front but you can not expect him to lead the line on his own as he really does not have the right skill set to do so. Currently he's an out and out wing-forward.

His goal scoring isn't impressive but can he do a job on the left?

Sure he can, he's extremely quick and an ok dribbler, he wouldn't contribute anything defensively though. & like GP said, his price tag would be sizable to say the least, we're not just talking about overpaying but paying for thrice his actual value. Fan favorite, local boy, comes out of their own youth, 2018 contract,... If their board would sell him for let's say £17m, hell would break loose in Naples. So many factors against us and tbh I don't even think he wants to move away from Napoli.

The Daily Fail have quotes from his agent saying he is honoured to be linked with Arsenal. If true I would like him but only if we get the striker and defensive midfielder we need. He'd be a great 'luxury' signing (although I would prefer Griezmann).

Podolski is a starter on the bench anyway, when everyone's fit Santi's on the left and Theo's on the right.

The Napoli president has no desire to sell the 23-year-old, despite the Gunners' overtures.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says Arsenal's interest in Lorenzo Insigne makes him “laugh.”

Insigne's agent appeared to open the door to a potential move to the Emirates on Saturday, telling
Tuttomercatoweb: “We are honoured that a club like Arsenal could have Lorenzo on their wish list.”

“Arsenal offers 20 million for Insigne? This makes me laugh. I want to make Insigne rise to a value of 60-70 million,” he told Repubblica.

De Laurentiis is well reknown for being a grade a d***head. If Insigne is worth 70mill then Ox is worth 150.
