No grievances on "missing out" on Dier, if indeed what Adams says is true. Good player but nothing special; he looks far better in Pochettino's set up than he ever would have been in ours.

There's three players from Spurs that look far better than they actually are down to their system.

Rose, Dier, Vertonghen.

They conceded just 26 goals (we managed 44) so of course they have shite defenders ... take of the arsenal glasses and all three of these players would walk into our side, and into most other EPL sides as well ....

Dier is unique in that he's a very good CB and a very good CDM ..... is he world class, nope, but he's a mile ahead of anyone we have for that role .....

Does Ronaldo only look good because he plays with a team that creates him 10 chances a game? or is he in fact a good player?

Just because you're well coached and play a solid tactical game doesn't make you a good player ... you do have to have some ability as well .... nearly 2,000 passes at 86% that's top 15 in the EPL (Ramsey was <1,000) .... so yup must be rubbish ....

He's a Spud so he must be crap ... I get that ... but get past the bias and at 23 he's probably got 7 more very good years ahead of him .... or he can be sold for 30+ million ... can we say the same about Chambers?

I'd swap him for pretty much any of our 'home-grown' players in a second ..................
