Maybe we should just go all out for him and pay the 40M or so that Bilbao would want for him he's only 22 after all and could play on for 10+ years so we'd more than get our value for money here.

When United payed 30M for Ferdinand in 02 it seemed overpriced but look at the stability he bought in and the amount of titles he won during his 12 year stay, John stones will be the same for city in the future.

Has he recovered from his injury?

If he's injured and we buy him, we're likely to kill him knowing our medical staff.

not much between them tbh. He is slow and injury prone just like evans. Atleast Evans come from a country with good people

Really think it's hard to determine a good centre-back these days, for an attacking team playing a high line you basically want pace, recovery ability and tackling.

Evans looks good in West Brom's deep defensive line and for that style is a pretty good CB but just wouldn't work for us. Maybe our system is wrong or maybe we just need to pick the right target to suit our style.

Not sure City have with this signing but they've made Otamendi work.

Should be a really good signing in the long term for City. Might take him time to adjust but Laporte has all the tools to be an elite centre-back, providing he can stay fit.

Aymeric Laporte is attracting interest from Arsenal and Juventus, with the 29-year-old France centre-back facing an uncertain future at Manchester City. (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)
