Spending big on a centre back has won Liverpool the champions league. We need a van dijk.

Him and the keeper won it for them.

Two big signings.

An amazing manager won Liverpool the champions league.

Turns players into better players, let's his team play beautiful football and his player signings are on point.

Everything our manager doesn't do.

I wouldn't class the following players as "proven" at the time they were purchased:

- Firmino - 2015 (Hoffenheim) - 32m GBP
- Mane - 2016 (Soton) - 34m GBP
- Wijnaldum - 2016 (Newcastle) - 25m GBP
- Oxlade Chamberlain - 2017 (Arsenal) - 40m GBP
- Keita - 2018 (RB Leipzig) - 53m GBP
- Robertson - 2018 (Hull City)- 8m GBP
- Shaqiri - 2018 (Stoke) - 13m GBP

That's 200m worth of players who hadn't really accomplished much; 3 of those signings were from relegated clubs. And that doesn't include players like Trent Alexander Arnold or MIlner, both of whom cost 0 and made it to the starting XI.

In the dutch league he was an absolute beast, he never loses a physical battle. He's also a great threat in the air, FC Groningen basically tried to shoot all corners towards this guy haha. Also one amazing thing is, that when Van Dijk was making his breaktrough at FC Groningen he was being positioned as a ST. He scored 3 goals in, im not sure but I think his first match haha. I would love to see this guy at Arsenal, not as a starter ofcourse but I think he has a great potential to become a superstar. (im not sure though, maybe i am a bit subjective because i really like this player ^^ )

Should have bought him 5 years ago :P

The only players from that lot that have proven to be worth their transfer fees are Mane and Robertson. Perhaps Shaqiri too but he hasn't played much.

All it really shows is that Liverpool haven't been as genius in the transfer market as people claim. They just have a handful of excellent players and a hell of a coach
