I thought he was mid 30s though. Not many top DMs out there who have the techinal ability to play in our system and at 28 he's got a good few seasons left in him and so 50m isn't as daft as it sounds.

MATIC TO ARSENAL?

Interest in Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is growing. The Serbian enforcer is a Juventus and Manchester United transfer target but now Arsenal are keen on the 28-year-old too, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Blues have given Matic permission to miss pre-season tours to China and Singapore in order to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Would be the wisest transfer Wenger made this window.
