Antoine Griezmann

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Wenger claims that we lost out on Griezmann and Kante because we weren't "rapid enough."

Oh wow, is it really so, Sherlock? It's more of a case of Wenger's legendary dillydally than anything else. The man simply cannot decide and probably sits in his office—contemplating if Welbeck's as good as Hazard.

If Wenger were pondering on whom to sign—Welbeck or Hazard:

- Welbeck can play as a striker better than Hazard.
- Welbeck is a ManU reject. Always a positive at Arsenal.
- Welbeck works harder than Hazard.
- Can sub in as a wing back if needs must.
- Is super international class.
- Is English.

In Hazard's favor:

- Hazard is world class. With world class players, comes world class fees/wages.
- Hazard is a match winner.
- Hazard is elite level.
- Not a ManU reject.
- Doesn't defend well or track back.
- No use as a wing back.

That's 60 days worth of contemplation for Wenger. On Day 61, we buy Danny Welbeck, or bring Yaya Sanogo for free.

What excruciatingly busy summer, what sheer hardwork, what tenacity on display.

Wenger didn't choose between Hazard and Welbz, he chose between Hazard and a truly world class Nasri. Right choice

Yeah, it was between Hazard and Gervinho. The latter wanted to leave, while Hazard wanted to stay for one more season. Wenger didn't actively pursue Hazard in his (Hazard) earlier days and when he did, Hazard already had offers from United, City, and Chelsea.

That wasn't the point I was making @GA.

No he didn't.

Only to those who limit their judgement by solely looking at statistics, instead of watching them play.

Whilst Gervinho had his best ever season in terms on end product, it was Hazard and Cabaye who were the most instrumental to Lille's play.

It was in this season where Hazard transformed himself from a flashy dribbler into a player who is also capable of making a team tick by dropping deep and setting up attacks in addition to rinsing defenders for fun and putting goals on a platter for Sow and Gervinho who remained much higher up the field.

It was also during this season in which he scored that 35-yard screamer with his left foot, beating Steve Mandanda, who was considered as the best keeper in the league at the time.

Looks like the rumours about Dembele being unsettled and wanting out are true then.

Dembele's only 20 and not ready to start full-time, and Suarez is showing signs of slowing down.

I reckon next season it'll be Griez - Suarez - Messi with Dembele subbing for whomever needs a rest, then Griez takes Suarez's spot and Dembele slots in on the left wing for 2019-20 with Suarez dropping to a super sub. If anything, this is goodbye to Paco.
