Toby's a typical Ajax centre back; good footballer, comfortable on the ball, not horrible defensively by any means but there's still room for improvement, still only 25 so his best years should lie ahead of him.

His passing range is unseen for a CB, excellent at switching the play or setting up a counter attack out of nowhere. I'm surprised there's no video about it.

Has a good long range strike on him too, scored a couple of screamers for Ajax.

Tbh as much as I appreicate your opinion Zenith. i think we would benefit greater from the insight of leading Erdivisie expert Gooney.

if he's anything like vermaelen vertonghen or de vrij i'd take him also like that he's 6'2 which is a good height.

A season at atletico under simeone should have given him more top level experience and an insight on how to operate in a solid system. He looks a decent enough player to me and working with per and kos should improve his game.

At 25 i'd say he's a good age, experienced but also capable of improving and taking over 1 of per or kos if he needs to in the future.

Strikes me as a right footed Vertonghen, is that accurate Zenith?

I live in Holland and I am an Ajax supporter. He is not good enough for Arsenal, he is miles away from Vertonghen. He is pretty good on the ball but defensively he is very bad. He was at his best with Vertonghen next to him but when Vertongen left it was very clear that he needs a very good CB next to him.

i think all good defenders need good defenders next to them tbf

not disagreeing with what you said though because you've watched him.

When he was next to vertonghen did he look a good defender?

He was pretty good with Vertonghen next to him, but he is not aggressive enough for a
CB imo. He doesn't win a lot of his battles with strikers he just tries to get the ball by reading the game. I don't think he is good enough for Arsenal.
