You're going to have a really hard time convincing the average football fan that Spurs haven't really strengthened their squad this summer. And anybody with above average knowledge of the game knows that they have.
Spurs need to sign some center backs and some more reliable full backs, they have not done so.
Spurs have brought a good striker, a decent midfielder, a rather hit and miss talented winger and an average defensive midfielder.
Spurs have made a lot of changes and none of them have really advanced the squad enough to justify them showing a guaranteed improved showing, they will most likely struggle badly for a few months until the players settle.
They have signed too many players I think, especially in position they didn't need they should of invested in a center back, maybe two who could double as a defensive midfield, they got the striker they needed.
All those players will take time to settle in, without Bale, nobody there isn't anyone top class. They looked better last season.
