Transfer news: Partizan Belgrade say they are not selling Aleksandar Mitrovic

Partizan Belgrade have insisted they have no intention of selling starlet Aleksandar Mitrovic, despite reports claiming he was set to sign for Arsenal.

Mitrovic is one of the most highly-rated young strikers in Europe after scoring 10 goals in 17 starts for the Serbian giants last season.

The Gunners were reportedly heading the chase for his signature, with some suggestions that a deal was already done, while the player was quoted as saying that he was in talks with Arsenal.

"I heard that business is already done. I would like to deny this rumours. There is contact between us but nothing else," he is quoted as saying by Glas-Javnosti.

But Partizan president Dragan Duric insists that they will not be letting the 18-year-old leave.

"There is not a fraction of a per cent chance that we will sell Mitrovic this summer," Duric said.

"I have heard this and I think it is time to put an end to this story. Our only option for this summer is to let Marko Scepovic go abroad.

"Vojislav Stojkovic could go to, if it happens, we will look for reinforcements in that position. Either way, regardless of the wishes expressed by individual players at the end of the season, you should not expect a lot of departures from Partizan."

Seen him play against Belgium yesterday, he didn't look very dangerous but if you're only 18 years of age and marked by Kompany no one can really blame you.
