exactly, rejected Cesc to protect Ramsey's development yet bought 2 CM's since then and watched our rivals take 2 titles in 3 years with Cesc.

worst decision he ever made.

Especially since Ramsey is wank

Not sure where some think he has had a 'relevation' in the new formation. Maybe because the bar was so low.

I think everyone knows Cesc is better than any cm in our team, including Wenger. Wenger just does not want him back.

Lol everyone slates wenger for not bringing back cesc. At the time we needed a cdm badly! Wenger was not got gonna break the bank to bring in a slightly better version of cazorla so he can be slated by all the same critics. Even with that said, you guys are like jealous lovers, if he were playing for our team you'd hate him like you hate everyone and most likely yourself xoxo

TIL paying 30m for Fabregas = breaking the bank

We paid 35m for Xhaka ffs.

30m for Cesc would have been a master stroke.

Cazorla isn't proven like cesc as a cm, he had one good season and a few good months last two months and broke down, cesc probably had 8 good seasons at cm, its not really comparable.

Quality wise its obvious we should have brought him back, i lamabsted wenger in the past over this but in his defense only he and people close to arsenal would know how cesc behaved in his last months with us.

If he was an absolute count then I can see why wenger would take the stance that it would look weak for him to bring him back, doesn't excuse him not buying other quality players instead though.

I'm actually shocked that he's almost coming towards the end of his peak and he's seemingly okay with sitting on the bench at Chelsea for another season being a back up.

Glad we didn't bring him back! He was our captain and he forced a move away!

Still a quality player sadly!

Noble perspective.. has helped us win a lot lately.

Would have opened Cesc with open arms.

This, we get too butt hurt over business because we don't look at things realistically like the rest of the football world.

We need to stop acting like a bunch of heartbroken 1950's housewives and realise he went to Barcelona the best club in the world, a footballers dream, after that he openly wanted to come back here over Chelsea and we opted out ....... that was our mistake.

I'd love to have him back.

At the time 30m was still a lot of money, the point is he was the exact opposite of what we needed. Santi was in there and we needed the OPPOSITE of cesc next to him but yall look back too fondly cos he played a cross field ball in a pre season friendly and we have elneny. No doubt he is a good player still but he has some major physical shortcomings to the point where he cant even work NEXT TO KANTE. Move on with your lives, delete this thread and forget about cesc because I highly doubt he'll be tearing up trees this season.

Can't believe some people are still yearning to suckle the tits of Cesc. Let it go. It's just not meant to be. Don't be silly to suggest that we passed him up because of Ramsey or Xhaka. Back then, both Ozil and Cazorla were playing in the same position and our system only needed one playmaker. We couldn't even start both of them, without playing one out of position on the wing. It was only after Cesc signed for Chelsea that Cazorla eventually found a knack playing a deeper role and formed a good partnership with Coquelin.
