Some people have short memories, remember when he wanted to go, the performance we had, nope stay away for me.,

I never would blame a player for wanting to leave us to go back to their boyhood team they always supported. How could you be mad at someone for that?

It was the way it was orchestrated.

Was any of it even true though?

If I remember rightly it was all reported from newspapers.

He had the Barca shirt forced on him.

Ask yourself this: Cesc or Xhaka?

Bring El Capitan home.

Love Cesc.

He's always been fond of Arsenal and I don't blame him for going to Barcelona, he even laid out the chance for us to get him straight back after they were ok to sell him but we let Chelsea get him instead.

Problem is he's on the back end of his prime so what is he really going to give us, as a squad player he'd be amazing but are we really going to invest in him at age 31?

But yes, if he's not too expensive we can only benefit from his skill and experience.

Jesus christ, 3 years ago it made sense, now it would be ridiculous.

Love Cesc but he's done at a top team, could maybe get away with his lack of stamina at City but not here.

Whatever it was, it was highly exaggerated imo.

You have to kind of think, there is no easy way to tell your club you want to leave and go back to your boyhood club. It's always going to look bad no matter how professionally you go about it.

Instead we bought Alexis for similar money and got 25 goals and an FA Cup. Love Cesc and he was a good performer for Chelsea, but we needed a proper goalscorer with Giroud, Sanogo and Welbeck as our only attacking options.

We also spent 32m on welbeck and chambers that summer when gangrene would have cost us 20.

Diego Costa went for a similar amount and that duo won Chelsea the league.

That could have been our trophy had we bought the 2 of them, and we'd have challenged had we at least bought cesc

We had no chance at Costa, he was a done deal in January.
