Put it this way. Even if you have never seen him play. For arsenal to be willing to pay 40 million for a 19 year old. How good would he have to be? Why is no one else after him?

I'm pretty sure Dortmund, Real and City were/are after him.

Were after him as in they made actual bids? Schalke would never ever sell to Dortmund. Its like us selling Wilshere to Spurs :rofll: Or them selling their best homegrown kids to us

Yeah but he didn't do well against Wolfsburg or Hannover in the last 2 weeks. Not saying he's sh*te by the way.

Didnt see them 2 games, only the highlights but Schalkes team this year is really poor so I wouldn't be suprised if its more down to the team. The second half of last season, he was really impressive IMO.

Yup I know that but I think it was fuelled by a comment he made about him fitting into there side.

Draxlers release clause expired June 30th

Out clause of € 45.5 million has expired

"It would be schizophrenic, if we would like Julian. Bring a player like Boateng, then leave a player with quality ... We want to ensure that we are and remain competitive," said Heldt. Draxler himself had stressed before the season starts to want to play the season in any case with the Royal Blues. An interested club would have to invest a lot of money. because the release clause of € 45.5 million was only until 30 June. "This clause is over. There are no time limits more this season," said Heldt in July training camp in Donaueschingen. On Wednesday Heldt admitted, but to fall in a range brooding over 70 million euros. But such seems to be lacking.

Draxler Schalke talent apparently rejects million-deals

apparently he had just rejected several lucrative offers. Wrote the "Image" on Friday night. Apparently, Real Madrid, Manchester City and another English club were willing to pay for the period specified transfer fee of 45 million euros.

Draxler but refused "I do not have to accustom myself somewhere else but play with Schalke in the Champions League and then fly with the national team for the World Cup in Brazil,"

For a £40 million player, I don't rate him at all. I follow the bundesliga, he's worth 20 million tops. I don't care if he has world class potential, for that money we could get Ilkay Gundogan who is better in every single way.

So the £35m clause he signed in May lasted one month? Something doesn't add up...

No but when Cross printed the article he tweeted the article basically saying fvck you to all the people who were abusing him for making sh1t up. Its clear he's saying Draxler is the player he was talking about. Unless we have made 2 different 40 million bids for 2 players
