ARSENAL DO THEIR GROUNDWORK ON DENNIS PRAET

ARSENAL are looking to pave the way for Dennis Praet’s arrival in January.
The Gunners have always been associated with developing and buying youth talent, and Praet appears to be no different.

Playmaker Praet has been likened to Eden Hazard and Wesley Sneijder, and has been in fine form for Anderlecht this season.

Although Arsenal are strong going forward with Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, Praet is unique and Wenger wants to flex the club’s financial muscle following their new sponsorship deal last month with Emirates.

Praet has also been a mooted target of Manchester United, but Arsenal appears a more likely destination.

Although the player is contracted with Anderlecht until 2015 and talks have begun with the club over a new contract extension, Wenger will see Praet as a boon for the Gunners.

Praet has scored twice in the Belgian league this season

*Sigh*

Is he really necessary? I'd rather we "flexed our financial muscles" in other areas before we go looking for the "next (Insert great players name here)

Have a look at Anderlecht's games and decide for yourself.

Obviously his signature shouldn't keep us from strengthening our squad.

He's not hyped just as yet, but signs are looking good.

The fact that we are being linked with another young talent always puts me off. It's a dangerous place to be when your calling players the next anything. The lad might well be fantastic but I feel we should go all out to sign some established players first and then supplement them with young, future talents.

Where did I say this has to be a priority over signing established players?

You're misinterpreting my words, mate.

I never said you did bud. Mine was a general statement. I think you may have misunderstood me.

In all honesty after re-reading it I know what you mean. I just meant to dub someone the next anything is a bit strange. Surely you can't predict the future and see just how good he will turn out. Arsenal themselves have had so many young talents that have flopped. I'd rather see us try to sign experience first and then go in for the developmental players.

No problem as long as he doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Eisfeld, Toral, Aneke, Gallindo... join the club playmaker Praet!

Talented guy, but for a game with adults on a serious level it will be enough power? in Holland and Belgium, these players appear with some frequency, but to reach a good level can be very long...
