New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is looking to boost his midfield options with a move for Sampdoria star Dennis Praet.

The Belgian midfielder had been expected to join Juventus in the summer - but now the Gunners have opened negotiations with the highly-rated 24-year-old.


They believe he's a steal at £22million - which is the release clause in his contract with the Italians.

Gianluca Di Marzio suggests the Gunners have held ‘concrete’ talks with Praet’s agent. And they believe the midfielder is viewed as an alternative to Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Trying to figure out the point of this signing if it’s true. He’d be an upgrade if the aim is to replace Ozil and improve the defense but he’d be a downgrade if the aim is to replace Ozil or Ramsey and improve our attack. If it’s the former then surely we can find someone better. If it’s the latter then I don’t see much difference between this guy and Denis Suarez who didn’t even get a chance and I see Suarez as the better attacking player based off their YouTube videos. If we’re indeed signing him then I hope he costs next to nothing.
