I'd take him as long as he wasn't the only striker who came in. Could do a job on the left wing too.

Not this crap again, how desperate are we that we want to sign David Villa, he went down hill years ago.

This is scrapping the barrel now and there's no need for it.

Should be our back up plan if we don't get benzema/balo/remy.
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
???/Havertz

As a third striker it'd be a very good signing? He scored 13 goals in the league last year in additions to some in the cups. Not bad for a guy playing 2nd fiddle to Costa. Brings the bonus of another WF who can play on the left if necessary too, rather play him there than Podolski.

Benzema and Villa would add to our strikeforce massively.

He's signed for Melbourne City FC on loan (Man City Australia)

Side note: Give it a few years and every league I'm sure will be contested between a team owned by Man City, or a team sponsored by Red Bull. If your a betting man that's worth a punt

Former Barcelona forward David Villa says he was "90% certain he would sign for Arsenal" before the move fell through and he joined Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal were linked with a move for the Spain World Cup winner in January 2013 before then-Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed Barcelona did not want to sell.

Six months later, Villa joined Atletico for one season before moving to New York City for four seasons. He retired from playing last December at the age of 38 after a season in Japan playing for Vissel Kobe.

"We were in a lot of meetings and a lot of calls," Villa told Spanish football expert Guillem Balague for BBC Sport.

"I felt 90% in that moment that I [would] go to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

"But in that moment we didn't arrive to the deal, Atletico Madrid arrived and in three or four days fixed everything.

"I don't know what would have happened if I'd signed for Arsenal. I'm very happy that I signed for Atletico Madrid, not just for winning the league but for everything. I'm very happy to have made that choice

Isn't that the summer we bought the legend Sanogo?

Therein lies the problem with most of our transfer attempts during that period. Our people and processes were crap at getting it done.

f***ing hell, we could have won the title with him. The competition back then was Moyes, Bodgers and Mourinho. Pep, Klopp and Poch weren't even in the picture then.

Instead he won the title for Atletico (only one this decade) and we got Sanogo.
