Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Sign him and pair him with a solid younger CM like Elneny and our back line might stop shitting their pants for the first time in a decade.

From everything I’ve read about Emerys tactics, a player like N’Zonzi is critical. Midfielder in possession, third defender without the ball. I’ve always liked him to be honest. At 29 he’s not old either.

I’d prefer carvalho but nzonzi is exactly what we need in midfield

Havent really seen much linking him a move in the last few days, i hope they are doing it behind the scenes.

N'Zonzi would be better for us, he has much more experience and has the pace for the PL, he's shown he can handle it already.

Rather have the wise old head and someone Emery has worked with before.

I’m ok getting a few 29/30 year olds who will make an immediate impact to help steady the ship.

Once we are in a better place then can start injecting more youth.

Apparently Misinslat decided against N'Zonzi previously but Emery's insistence on his value as a player has made him rethink and sanction the deal.

Now we have to see if he can get him from Sevilla without any shenanigans.

He is a boss, nothing would get past him and xhaka as a double pivot.

Mike Dean wrote:Those of you upset at Emery wanting experienced players and and not going for young players instead, keep in mind that Emery is not on a 22 year contract. He is being brought in for immediate results.

You cant blame Emery for bringing in experienced players that he has trusted in the past. His job and reputation is on the line and he will not gamble them with a full lineup of young players.

While we carry the attitude that if Emery doesn't work he will be fired or wont be renewed, he is thinking about his career.

I might not agree with his approach this summer but I can certainly understand where he is coming from.

Interesting point. I hadn't thought about this.

To think from Unai's perspective, of course. The board probably want him to finish in the top-4 (or enter the UCL via the Europa League) next season, whilst playing decent football. He won't be sacked if he failed to, as long as we missed out narrowly or there was some sort of progress in their eyes. But he's not Wenger who was immune to everything here.

A man's got to do what a man's got to do.

This. I would love doucoure but I don't think I want to know what Watfords asking price would be and I don't know if doucoure is a dm. He can win the ball but he's not a nzonzi.
