Giroud dreams of England
French striker would welcome Premier League move in the future
Olivier Giroud has his heart set on making a move to England at some stage, but says he is working towards short-term goals at present.
The Montpellier striker is enjoying another standout season in Ligue 1, with 14 goals to his name already this term.
The 25-year-old has quickly become one of French football's leading lights, with his ongoing development recognised with two senior international caps.
Giroud is hoping to remain a key figure in France's plans during the build-up to Euro 2012 and is also targeting a lofty league placing with Montpellier.
Should he hit those targets, there is every chance he will be on his way to pastures new.
He admits he would relish the opportunity to turn out in the Premier League and, with Newcastle and Arsenal having been linked with moves in the recent past, he could get his wish in the not too distant future.
"I have always stated that it would be a dream to play in England," said Giroud.
"But I am focused on Montpellier for now because I owe them a lot. I don't want to think about too many things at once.
"We are all hoping to play in Europe and the next couple of months will be a turning point in our season.
"My personal objective is to score 20 goals and end the season on top of the scoring charts.
"I also want to go to the Euros with the French team, so it is only right that I aim to finish above the other forwards."

Nothing concrete yet, but I just thought I would start a thread for the guy. I rate him as a striker too
