Stefan de Vrij

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Stefan de Vrij

Arsenal are keeping their eye on Feyenoord youngster Stefan de Vrij, according to reports in the Dutch media.

Gunners scout Steve Rowley is understood to have watched the 19-year-old defender in action during the club's Eredivisie draw at ADO Den Haag on Sunday.

Arsenal are rumoured to be looking to launch a €3.5million (around £3m) bid for the youngster's signature during the summer transfer window.

The North London club would most likely sign De Vrij on a permanent deal before loaning him back to Feyenoord for another season.

De Vrij, a regular performer for the Netherlands' Under-17s, can play as a central defender or at right-back.

He has established himself as a first-team regular under coach Mario Been in Rotterdam this season, making 21 league appearances.

No quotes but hey, I haven't started a thread in a while

I'm sure we've been linked with this guy before but I couldn't find anything when I searched.

Gavin Hoyte has only ever impressed me, although I have heard of him having bad games, and he hasn't set the stage alight at any of his loan clubs. Will this dude spell the end for Hoyte?

Not sure how a 19yr old can be a regular performer for the U17's?

Heard same rumour but he is slim and looks like he has no strength for our league. Highly unlikely imo.

Can't really see the point in letting Nordtveit go and then buying this guy...?
Surely it would've been easier to keep Nordtveit....?

I think I got this guy mixed up with someone else, another youngster who's future definitely lies in the RB position.

This guy can play there, but turns out his favored position is CB. So like you said Inch... no point!

I remember us being linked with a midfielder and a right back at the same time, I think it towards the end of the last season. The right back had a similar name to this guy, simple mistake... you're not still bit are you Fabs?

Inter have proposed a swap deal to Arsenal that would see Gabriel Magalhaes and Stefan de Vrij change places, reports Calciomercatoweb.

Serie A giants would also part with a fee to get a deal done, but the Gunners are reluctant to part with a Brazilian star that has impressed alongside Ben White in England.

I can't see it because we will be back in the position of having 4 right footed cbs again and that was one of the first big changes Arteta wanted, for the left cbs to be played on their strong foot.

Of course Lisandro Martinez might be coming in which is a left footer, but i'm just thinking about what we have.
