Kasper Schmeichel linked with shock Arsenal transfer this summer
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could look to Kasper Schmeichel - the son of former Manchester United legend Peter - to solve his goalkeeping crisis ahead of next season, it has emerged.

Famously astute when it comes to eyeing an unlikely bargain, Wenger is mulling over a move for the out-of-contract Dane following his release by League Two side Notts County this week.
Former Manchester City shot-stopper Schmeichel has Premier League experience from his stint at Eastlands two years ago.

And, at just 23, Wenger sees Schmeichel as a potential future star - having given up hope of bringing through Lukasz Fabianski or being able to rely on Manuel Almunia.
Arsenal have already been linked with several top-class goalkeepers this month, including Fiorentina's Sebastien Frey, 30, and West Ham's Rob Green, 30.
But Wenger is keen to add a younger goalkeeper into the mix who can be groomed to take over once his more experienced new signing - whoever that may be - comes to the end of his career.
It is thought Championship side Derby County and Premier League rivals Spurs and Birmingham City are also weighing up moves for Schmeichel - although a contract at the Emirates Stadium would be the youngster's preference.

Unlikely... surely if Flappy and Avi Al are both offloaded; Mannone and Sir Chesney would fight for number 2??

Anyway, it's not likely

I remember back when he played for Man City in the 07/08 and didn't concede in something like 5 games? Until Fabregas scored against him?

Looked good from what i recall.

if he is any gold how comes he is out of contract and how comes Utd ain't going after him?

IMF, turn off or turned off?

Takes a few seconds to cut and paste, but it would look messy like yours so I choose not to, so there.

He was signed by Notts on £15k a week when they had some big spending business backing them, apparently it was purely financial that he was released...

I turn it off. Mine is easy to read, just because it missed 3 return characters as it was pasting from the Metro doesn't make it messy. Yours captures all sorts of crap and few seconds is a big lie with your girls phone.

Yeah I remember that too...

I was kinda surprised when he was dropped from the first team and then loaned out later that same season... if I recall correctly. He did look good when he was playing with the first team. :dontknow:
