Would be a very decent club for him, not having to battle to prevent degradation and perfect for him to get playing time.

Personals aren't "working themselves out" RE: Chavs/Cahill. Clubs agreed but player not seemingly happy.

Indeed, they basically got 4-5 very decent central backs and they buy another one ':D'.

Also Cahill & Jack are extremely good friends. They play Golf together a lot. Jack made a tongue-in-cheek point about trying to get him to come to us in Summer.

We seem to have made our decision, Mertesacker or Koschielny beside Vermaelen. We don't honestly need a CB, we really need a LB to compensate for Sagna being out and Gibbs being below par even when fit and playing. Gibbs is not the next Ashley Cole and Santos is woeful at defending, makes me nervous everytime he gets the ball on our side.

But another centre back would free up vermaelen and koscielny to cover the full back positions.

I'm happy with our CB options... not becuase of MErtesacker's performances since he's joined, but because of Kosicalny. When Mertersacker joined, most peopel consdiered hima started next to Vermaelen with the ever-improving Koscialny to be used as back-up... but Kos has show that he wants that spot.

Our CB options are only such an issue now as we're so short on the FB positions.

Koscielny >>> Cahill.

Suggests what might be permanent? Switching from coffee to tea? Dating white birds? Getting a 105'' TV?

Something out of nothing if you ask me.

In the words of Frimpong himself,

PFFFT!

I'm just glad it isn't permanent and it is just a loan.

Why would it be permanent though? Makes no sense for him to leave.

This guy is poor version of Koscielny and I dont want him. mertesacker offers something different and he complements kos and verms very well. We also have couple of young CB learning their trade in Miquel and Bartley. So we have great cover in this position

Last season if someone said that they would have been stoned to death by 90% of Gooners (myself included) this season though Kos has been massive. Bolton are not going to let Cahill go cheaply and he most definitely is not worth what they want for him.

Surely they wouldn't let him go for 8 million. There is a good chance they will go down and he'll be the first player that clubs will go after.
