He's the next best England CB and United payed around £30M for Rio and that was years ago...

Not surprising but still too much.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle claimed in May that he would not stand in Cahill’s way if Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa or Manchester United registered their alleged interest in the talented Bolton Wanderers star, but suggested the likes of Arsene Wenger, Roberto Mancini, Carlo Ancelotti and Sir Alex Ferguson would have to cough up near to £30 million.

That was said in May. He was obviously still drunk from somehow avoiding relegation with Burnley to jump ship to Notlob.

I doubt that if Cahill was sold it would be anywhere near £30m.

By putting a 30 mil price tag on him, its just like standing in his way, and not letting him leave.

Really really want him. Bolton is no destination for a player like him so let him go for crying out loud.

I think if negotiations were opened he'd go for less than that. Whether it's us or one of the others (bar Middles Eastlands) then I feel the price will be lower.

Yeah, I think you could get him a bit lower if you give them Wilshere for another season too.

Cahill for 30 million must mean if we sell Cesc, we'd have about 200 million

Ferdinand was a world class defender when united signed him.
Cahill is nowhere near as good as Rio was and we've just gone through a global recession.
He's worth 15 million tops.
