Cahill is not worth that sort of money and their is no way Arsene would spend it. I still have a feeling we could land Phil Jagielka from Everton but my only worry about him is will he be as good after his injury lay off as he was before?

Arsenal prepare January bid for Bolton defender Cahill

Arsenal are ready to move for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.

The Guardian says Wanderers' decision to put Cahill on the transfer market has opened the door to a formal bid from Arsenal.

Arsène Wenger has been monitoring Cahill's impressive recent progress and despite spending £13m on two centre-halves during the summer some at the club doubt that the defence is sufficiently robust.

Bolton are looking for £15m, which Arsenal may consider excessive, for a player who won his first international cap against Bulgaria in September as a second-half substitute

We could do with somebody who could cover both CB and CM and is built like a BSH.

Rodders. Ive never heard of Fazio, who does he play for? I wouldnt have a problem with Cahill or Rodwell, its probably best to sign players from within the PL in Jan so the whole adapting period isnt as harsh. The likelyhood of getting Rodwell? Zero to none!

A bid for Rodwell would have to be in the £20m plus mark considering all of the media hype surrounding him. Do you think Wenger would ever try it?
