Arsenal senior scout watches fullback in person – Transfer trip leads to ‘positive report’
Arsenal first-team scout Romain Poirot was recently in attendance to watch Fenerbahce’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu and provided the Gunners with a ‘positive report’ on the player.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who believes Arsenal could be set to move for the player.
Kadıoğlu is considered one of the rising young stars in Turkish football, having established himself as the first choice left-back for Fenerbahce over the last couple of seasons.
Capable on either side of the pitch, the fullback is a useful asset and has been earning attention from several sides in Europe.
Arsenal appear to be one of the clubs keen and Sabuncuoğlu reports that their chief scout was recently in attendance for the clash with Trabzonspor to watch the 24-year-old.
He ultimately picked the wrong game to attend as he witnessed Fenerbahce’s first defeat of the season, although it seems he was impressed by what he saw from Kadıoğlu as it’s claimed he sent back a ‘positive report’ on the player.
Whether that leads to a full transfer effort remains to be seen and a deal would presumably not be a cheap one given Kadıoğlu is tied down to a deal until 2026, so the Turkish side have no need to sell.
That doesn’t mean they won’t, but it does suggest Arsenal will again need to open the chequebook to get their man.
