5'9" CB? No thanks.
Left sided, when we have Gabi and Saliba? No thanks.

Definitely need cover at both FB positions, but this isn't the one for me.

Are we trying to force Saliba out the door?

It's looking more and more like 3 at the back.

He can play DM too.

LCB / LB / DM is good. Will get plenty of game time with our injury record.

Hes going to be converted to a dm or left back, he has impressive passing and defensive numbers.

Initially thought it was a bit of an odd move. We're stacked at CB but it probably signals the end of Holding and I read somewhere that Arteta wants 2 strong players in each position so this could explain it. With European football next season there will be a lot of injuries and fatigue so anyone we bring in will deffo get game time.

Also as soon as we got 1-2 injuries to our starting players last season the team fell apart. So stacking up on quality players isn't a bad thing. If we had this guy at CB against Spurs we wouldn't have seen Holding start and put in a calamitous performance and get sent off and lose us the game. We may have just come away with a point.

And this lad can cover LB so when Tierney inevitably breaks he can take his place. So I guess on the balance of it, it's not a bad idea to bring more cover in.

Every clip I've seen has him pinging passes Pirlo style. Maybe he could play the Pirlo role in midfield?

Lisandro Martinez few weeks ago: “Every time i’m entering the game, it’s like i’m going to war. We Argentines are raised that way. Every time i’m playing, i’m remembering moments where my parents didn’t had money for food.” [AjaxTV]

Love his attitude.

Either that or 2 CB's per Europe / Cups and 2 CB's per PL?

I think that's more the story.

One minute we were after Hickey, now we’re after Martinez.

Apparently our bid has been turned down, so who knows if this will happen.

I thought so too, buy Gabi is first choice on the left side, and both Saliba and Martinez are left sided. That's three left sided CBs.

Not that they can't play on either side of course, but we've heard a lot about Arteta's preference for specific left and right sided CBs.

I'm baffled to be honest, but as mentioned above, could be a DM or LB conversion. The same was said after the Zinchenko links.
