This geezer will fail in the Prem.
Sesko is a better buy.

Did we sign sesko?
I doubt we’ll sign either of them but I have a preference.

Tell me why Gyokeres will fail in the Prem and why you prefer Sesko.
Name one striker, prolific in Portugal that has made it in the Prem?
Secondly, he was average in the Championship, that was only a few years ago.
Thirdly, 19 of his goals last season were Penalties? Not understating his penalty taking ability but how many penalties were we awarded last season?
Most teams setup for a low block against us, I believe Sesko is going to be better for these games which ultimately is what we need over the course of a season.
He is younger, quicker and bigger and has a higher ceiling.
This is all immaterial anyway because I don’t believe we’re getting either of them despite the relatively sensible “modern day” prices being banded about.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. Forget what others have done, look at the merits of each situation and each player. To answer your question though, here its a list of all the top scorers in Portugal since the Premier League began that moved to the Prem:
Mario Jardel - went to Bolton.
Jackson Martinez - went to Chelsea.
Darwin Nunez - went to Liverpool.
Tiny sample size, is that what you want to base your opinion on ???
Gyokeres scored 2 more than Jardel's best, last season and he smacked Jackson Martinez' and Nunez' best totals by 13 goals. You don't score that number of goals in professional football unless you are bloody good.
He was average in the Championship ??? I think people are just jumping on what one person said and not checking the facts. In his first proper/full season in the Championship (2021/22) he scored 17 goals and got 5 assists, in 42 matches, thats a goal every 2.6 games - which is better than average when you consider a goal every 2 games is the strike rate of a striker rated as good. In his next season there he got 21 goals and 10 assists in the Championship in 46 appearances, bringing his strike rate down to 2.1 games per goal. Add to that the number of assists and that puts him comfortably in the top class band.
Penalty goals - Not sure why this lessens his attractiveness to us. We have missed a few penalties in recent times, having a reliable penalty taker is a good thing.
The low block - granted Sesko might have more pace, but Gyokeres can do it all, link up play, come short, go long. I recently posted a heat map of last season for both players side by side, Sesko's showed that he spent the majority of his time in the middle third of the pitch versus Gyokeres whose was in the final third. So I don't see how Sesko would be better against a low block when he spends most of his time in the middle third.
Apart from his height I don't see the benefit of him over Gyokeres.
