At this stage of the transfer window the club doesn't announce players during weekends, nor do they announce more than one incoming transfer per week.

The weekend has passed, and it's been exactly one week since the announcement of Matt Turner, which makes it likely that Gabriel Jesus will likely be announced today.

Arsenal announce Jesus!

We finally have a proper striker after years of old, ageing or underperforming strikers.

One of the top strikers in the world has decided to join Arteta's project :hail:

Excited :arse flag.gif:

The only bad news is they gave him the cursed number 9 shirt.

The longest medical in history is finally over.

Any excitement of this signing of which there was very little anyway cos he's not very good has dwindled even further

Only at Arsenal can they kill excitement and hope for a new signing

Alas he's home. The Brazilian welbeck has entered the building

Good luck to him. Need him to fire ASAP.

20 league goals minimum.

Usually players who score a lot of goals just want to be playing in the best place to score goals and have that streak which makes them want to score goals at all costs, Jesus doesn’t appear to have this which makes me think that although he’ll score goals he probably won’t be prolific.

But yes you’d expect the plan is for him to play as our main striker, but we’ll have to see how that works out as he has admitted he’s better as a winger.

Here's your quote:

@sr_collings: Jesus on his position: "I'm a No9! I can play three or four different positions but I think my position is No9."

Dampen excitement for what is probably our biggest signing of the window for Matt Turner ... a reserve goalkeeper. Makes sense.

Good signing though. I think it's the best we could have got in the circumstances.

Why Gabriel Jesus is the perfect fit for Arsenal

Postby footywithuti » Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:42 am

Hi guys, I’ve just done a short video detailing how Gabriel Jesus fits in at Arsenal for those interested. Although there’s question marks around his arrival due to a perceived shortage of goals, I believe those statistics are slightly misguided and can see him being Arsenal’s best signing this summer. I’d love to hear your thoughts and am happy to answer any questions you may have. This one took hours to edit so I really hope you find it useful if you do decide to give it a watch. Have a great week regardless!

Here's another GW myth dispelled:

@FabrizioRomano: Three clubs tried to hijack Gabriel Jesus deal until Sunday, June 26… but he always wanted Arsenal as priority.

So much for no other clubs wanting him :dontknow:

Reasons why:

- young
- quick
- agile
- good finisher
- suits a pressing system
- versatile

I would say, be excited :arse fan:

Decent bit of analysis, I don't agree that he has a high footballing IQ though, not saying he is a Walcott, a high footballing IQ infers seeing passes others don't see, great interplay and making great runs. I think he is good at 1 of the 3, not convinced he has the other 2 attributes.
