I think that's one of the reasons as to why the situation exists with Melo as it does, in that we don't want a permanent transfer or loan beyond this season given our preference is for Bruno Guimaraes who we can only look to acquire come the end of this season, as well as the introduction into the squad of Azeez. Unfortunately, Juventus have sussed this and in not only wanting Guimaraes also, they want to offload his compatriot but not make it obvious they made a mistake and are now trying to style it out and make as though he's a valued member of their squad.

We shouldn't be getting bullied into an 18-month loan. If he flops, it'll be Dani Ceballos all over again.

Does he even get into the team when Xhaka and Party are fit?

If he impressed you last season you have very low standards. Please go back to being PG :sneaky2:

Ceballos was quality we wouldn’t have the most recent FA cup without him turned up in those games against Sheffield, Man City and Chelsea in the final

Benayoun was also a very good loan we wouldn’t have got top 4 without him, obviously RVP carried that team but Benayoun played his part also

Kallstrok scored his pen in the semis and left with a winners medal so I guess you can call it a success lol

Juve has f***ked us with Vlahović so let's f**k them a bit. Lets go after Guimarães so they cant offload Melo bonus they cant get Guimarães aswell. This means that they are solely relying on Ramsey leaving to free up wages. Would be great for Agent Ramsey to refuse to leave as well. Wasted the whole window after these 2 guys and it's 1 club that is messing with us.

I echo your sentiments entirely. If we had £60M cash on the hip ready to get Vlahovic over the line, then there is no way in hell that we should be coming away from this window without the Brazilian given that he's actually interested in joining our club.

If it transpires that this also fails to materialise, then the appropriate course of action upon returning from Dubai should then be to put both Edu and Dickie Garlick in front of a firing squad, but preferably not one where either Lacazette, Nketiah or Aubamayang are amongst the marksmen, especially as we're on the flight path to Heathrow.

Juve have the money to sign Vlahovic, plus Gerrard just picked up Betancur from them on loan.

So that puts the kibosh on Arthur also moving.

Papers are saying the AFC board shut down Edu's deal for Melo, they didn't like the offer apparently.

Good. Maybe somebody on the board is paying attention.

Edu needs to explain why he is asking for yet another CM when the club has spent £100m already on Partey, Lokonga, Ode AND extended Xhaka's deal. Elneny will be back soon as well.

Why Arthur now? Why can't the manager make it work with the 3 other CMs who were sent on loan, one of whom has Marseille in 2nd?

Hopefully this could be a first step towards re-evaluating his position at the club.
