So it def wasn't a financial decision cause we could have easily offered that and more

A player chose villa over the arsenal

Arsenal football club :rofll:

Also chose Birmingham over London haha wtf

Not true, a player can turn down a move if he wants to go to the other club, happens all the time, the player decides at the end of the day.

We offered the same but less money up front apparently.

Nope. Not if Norwich only entertained Villa's bid.

@ChrisWheatley_: Arsenal matched the salary being offered to Buendia, but Villa's package to Norwich was more enticing. Told that Arsenal 'matched it, or went even more, but on a different structure of deal'.

we matched their bid

the player chose them

end of that discussion.

Reading comprehension. Tsk, tsk.

Wheatley literally mentions that the package offered by Villa to Norwich (not Bundia!) was more enticing.

When a club accepts a bid from only one club, the player can either:

    - Move to that club.

    - Remain where he is.

Not a single journalist has reported that Norwich accepted Arsenal's bid. A player cannot move elsewhere when there is no agreement about the transfer fee between the player's parent club and the bidding club.

Yeah but the player has to sign the contract or he could just run down his existing Norwich one.

If the player refused Villa then Norwich would of had no choice but to entertain Arsenal's bid.

Apparently we did make a formal bid, Norwich just decided Villa was who they wanted to sell to, it even could be the case of Buendia telling Norwich he preferred Villa as a destination making Norwich's choice obvious.

Norwich the club have no reason to side with Villa, I have a suspicsion Martinez's recomendations may of had a major part to play.

Club chose Villa and the player didn't hesitate to sign .......... this smells like a joint decision here.

Honestly I don't think there is anything fine about it.

Despite whether you rate the player or not, the fact that we're getting knocked back and out matched to a players signature by the likes of Aston Villa is a bad sign, a terrible sign.

We're now hearing rumours about us signing Neves from Wolves .......... Neves who is an inferior player to Buendia, if this is the case we can forget about Bissouma as well.

The rot needs to stop and no one at AFC is doing anything about it.

Again the player can turn down the move if he wants to play for the other club,it forces the clubs hand a bit more.

Buendia was happy to go to Villa, that’s pretty clead, he wasn’t willing to turn them down to sign for us.
