Daniel Ek (takeover bid)

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

The club needs structural changes from top to bottom. Thats what they aim to provide.

They have no track record to indicate they can turn the club around. All the talk so far is just that, talk.

While this is true, our current management has PROVEN they cannot turn the club around. So yeah, at this stage I rather gamble.

We are going nowhere right now.

We gambled on a work experience hire and it's backfired massively. I don't want to make that worse with new ownership that thinks we can move up the table without spending. Kroenke ownership has been a failure, but a big part of that is down to the people they hired to spend money.

If this guy is serious about buying the club then he is going about it in entirely the wrong way.

Disappointed that Henry allowed himself to be used by this guy and it's pretty poor form on Henry's part to be using his pundits job on Sky Sports to be promoting outside interests.

Know nothing about Ek.

Will he make money available as the kroenkes have done?

Will he accept mid table mediocrity as the kroenkes have done?

Or is he an actual winner?

My concern is that he actually has less money than the Kroneke's.

Would he be a better owner personality wise, yes, does personality start falling away when your being pressured to pump millions you don't have into a Football club ........ yes.

Stan Kroenke networth - £10.7 Billion

Ek net worth - £3.8 Billion

When asking one of them to pump £200m into AFC that cuts into Ek's total money, a lot more than it does Stans.

I can't see Ek being able to put any more than £500m into AFC at best, in fact after what its going to cost him to purchase AFC from Stan .......... what will he have left?

In fact AFC is valued at £2 billion ..........

Imo Ek would struggle to afford to both buy and fund us, we're worth over half of the total money he has.

We also have no problem with investment in the squad so I am not sure what value he would bring.
Frankly, having him sit in the stands every week with an ex-player to show he 'cares' is not valuable at all.

I think he'll make money available

Big question is will he accept the crap we've seen that kroenkes have accepted?

Net worth does not matter as much as his ability to raise the £3bn necessary to buy the club outright. Ek is a product of the venture capital world, he wouldn't dream of using much of his own cash.

The worst case scenario would be if he set up a leveraged buyout the way the Glazers bought United. They set up fat payments for themselves and turned the club into a marketing machine instead of one that competes for trophies.

Never enough money, the guy is supposed to be a fan, he has money ( clearly not enough). I am a fan too thats why when AW left i applied for his job i didnt have enough experience, but hey eventually they hired a guy with no experience.
Moral of the story is kronke will only want the sale price after that he wouldnt give one

He was looking at Thierry Henry with the cow eyes of an adulating fan.

We need an owner with a spine. Not someone who'll hand over control to an ex player who doesn't have a clue. It would be disastrous, and make our current situation look fantastic.

He is trying to cultivate authenticity to differentiate himself from the usual nameless rich dudes buying clubs. Showing up with TH14 is a great photo op to be fair.

Rather have Silent Stan than some guy looking for photo ops.
