Some Twitter pubbers saying we're in for him.

Ashley Young remains the priority

Hypothetically, if you did get Saka, how would you use him?

His best performances have come as a wing-back or a full-back. While, he'd be world class under a manager like Wenger or Klopp, but as a winger, he doesn't have the dribbling nor the creativity, yet.

The way you guys play, you'd be a lot better with Maddison than Saka. Now if Rodgers can improve his creativity, he'd be a different beast altogether.

we have a gaping hole on our right wing, we don't have any.

Maddison, depends what formation we are playing if we stick with 343 then we don't have a place for him, he can only really play LW in that system and Barnes has to play for us, 4231 and then there is an obvious role but he needs to actually perform constantly, his defenders would cry injuries however

All these links with expensive CAMs makes me wonder if Arteta is going to 'do a Martinelli/Saliba' with Smith Rowe.

ESR shouldn't be playing as much as he is though. He's young and has fitness issues, and shouldnt' be overplayed. Last season we had no choice but to use him constantly because the manager is clueless and relied on kids to finish 8th. .

Arteta has never rated him. Only used him when he had no choice. Then shunted him wide for Odegard. ESR should bail on him and Arsenal.

Ah, ah. Fair point.

He won't. ESR is our only CAM. Saliba didn't get a chance to kick a ball here. Meanwhile, Arteta opted to use Willian, Saka, or Pepe on the flanks over Martinelli. He had other options. With ESR now, it's too late for a U-turn even if originally, he didn't seem to favor giving minutes to ESR.

We need a top CAM for two reasons specifically: ESR is too young and has fitness issues. While age isn't an issue for early birds like Cesc or Rooney, ESR isn't anywhere close to being at those levels as of now. Secondly, creativity is a major concern. Heading into a season with one youngster as a CAM would be pretty poor management.

ESR is refusing to sign a contract - he wants a better club ... just think about that

I'm thinking you are clueless. They just need to get few things sorted. ESR will extend.
The kid bleeds arsenal and even rejected Barca couple of years ago coz he wanted to wear the shirt and play for the club.

Once the job sinks in and his loved club does not progress at his rate he will leave.

Arsenal have identified Leicester City midfielder James Maddison as a transfer target - according to Football London.

The Gunners have made signing the 24-year-old their top priority this summer, but the Foxes will demand £60 million ($83m) for a prized asset.

Maddison is seen as the ideal man to plug a creative hole for Arsenal, who have seen Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos return to Real Madrid after respective loan spells at Emirates Stadium.
