If so I expect he’ll be wanting a 3 year deal with us too, so that will take him to 35 pretty much. Not convinced with this deal, we’ve been lumbered with players we can’t get rid of on high wages for years now, Willian could be another one if he gets 3 years.

Chelsea offered him a 2-year deal.

We're offering him a 4-year (3+1) contract.

4 years!
:dontknow:

3 years with a clause for an additional year, hence, the 3+1.

Ornstein said it wasn’t the most financially rewarding one out of his options, hopefully it’s not much past £100k p/w

Rumored to be £125k a week.

That's £18m for 3 years excluding bonuses, signing on fee, and agent fees.

Not convinced at all, this just screams of cheaping out yet again.

It better not affect our other transfer plans.

Great deal if true.

Only 125k/weeks? I thought he want more than that. Not a bad deal then.

I can't believe it's just 125k a week. He's already earning 120k at Chelsea.

Difference is we usually cheap out on defenders and defensive midfield players. I'm hoping this means they'll sort out the defence.

He's great at carrying the ball forward and has all the attribute to be successful there. And considering Arteta was a winger that switched to a CM in the latter part of his career it makes even more sense.

Doubt it. Pretty sure he will play out wide for us.

Willian as a player is solid and will be a great addition to the starting lineup alongside PEA and Pepe, He is a workhorse who is also pretty good with the ball at his feet and can making something happen. The question for me is the 3 years. I know that Willian can play another year, maybe two at his current level. What after? Still relatively cheap for a proven performer in the EPL.

Brilliant deal if true, he is a great player and can cause teams all sorts of problems with his pace, was glad to see he was out of the Chelsea squad for the final as he has caused is problems in the past. Also a 4 year deal makes sense, get 2-3 years out of him and in his last year or 2 if he's surplus to requirements sell him and actually get a few rather than him going on a free, I'm sure there would potentially be a few Brazilian or Chinese clubs who would want him even at 34-35.

£125k or roundabouts is reasonable. Knew the £200k figure was BS

I know I would want to bring in Willian as sub, or to start cup games (if he does not merit a 1st 11 spot) rather than live through the levels that I have seen from Willock or Reiss. Saka will hopefully come good and be consistent as LW but he needs to be eased in and rotated with the likes of Pepe, or players with Willian or better quality.

........ 1 - nil to The Arsenal
