Asensio is magical though. What a player :cloud9:

for all you who think benzema is the answer for anything... smh

He has games where he's virtually unplayable (@Atletico in the CL last season, for example), but he's super frustrating as a finisher because he'll have these long stretches where he can't hit the broad side of a barn. He could've easily had a hat trick against Valencia smh

He's not supposed to be the finisher though. That's Ron's job. He's the finisher, the poacher now. Benzema's biggest plus was/is his link up play and willingness to sacrifice his striker's instinct for Ronaldo. He is there to put it on the platter for Ronaldo and create space for Ron with his movement. That's why he's been Real's main striker for a while now and Madrid opted to keep him over a much better striker in Higuain. Higs didn't mold his game around Ronaldo as much as Benzema did.

Even today, with Ron a poacher now, Real need a figure like Benzema because of his presence and link-up play as a CF. Ronaldo as a CF wouldn't work. Ronaldo isn't really a striker, doesn't have that movement from a central position. And, Real wouldn't want to play with a false #9.

Having said that, I also believe Benzema isn't that great CF. Not comparable to Raul or even someone like David Villa.

another f**k up without the GOAT. Refs ruined Madrid's season already.

Bale missed about 10 sitters
Kroos hits the post
Zidane decided to be Pep for a day and pick the weirdest side possible

1-1 ft, first time in 22 years Madrid not won their opening two home games.

The games are still tighter though, Argentina only scored one goal in the last two qualifiers and that was an own goal, quality might not be great but the passion insomewhere like South America is immense messi can't just waltz through and score like it is nothing.
