I remember at 98' they said it was the most politically charged game of football ever.

It could be another tasty one.

In football terms it's the fight to avoid the wooden spoon

I visited Iran in Friday prayers they used to chant death to USA and death to Britain. Not Iran's first choice.

Having said that Iranian people were lovely.

The Iranian police pepper sprayed female ticket holders at a world cup qualifier against the other day because they purchased tickets for a 'men only' seating area and tried to enter the stadium.

The authorities announced afterwards that the women's presence in the men's area 'could have caused a crisis'.

Hopefully Qatar police and officials are on the ball like Iranian police were

Can see some d***head running on to the pitch to protest some crap. Rainbow flag or cuffing themselves to the post. Unlike here these Muppets will be dealt properly there

What moron decided to put this thing in Qatar.

They're only two hours ahead of us! Why the f**k are they putting games on at 12 mid day?

Edit to say by that time it'll be three hours ahead after we go back to BST. Still... 1pm? WTF?

The whole tournament has become a bit of a joke before it’s even started.
The quality of the football at international level is also poor, so that doesn’t help.
The draw is also clearly fixed.
I guess they are just trying to drum up as much TV interest as possible and it looks like think the Asian and Far East markets are the priority right now for TV.
