I will not hear such heresy :snooty:

I think playstyle determines who people consider the superior player. If you enjoy a swashbuckler living life in the fast lane, it's Zizou. If you like a tidy player who takes the efficient route, it's Iniesta.

There’s a respected football writer called Michael Cox who thinks Zidane was essentially overrated

Obviously he was a wonderful baller and was world class in every sense of the world, but over the course of the season he was inconsistent

He turned up for the big games and the big tournaments, which is how people rate him rather than his performances throughout a season

Ffs Sims I googled him and it's literally some asshole with a few tweets about Zidane.

"Yeah, Madrid and Juve fans always say maybe we never saw his best".

What a well thought out and informed assessment, really made me change my opinion on Zidane.

The standards of "journalism" nowadays is utterly pathetic, can't believe you would lend credence to a few tweets - what's even more shocking is you remembered this guy's name and dropped it like he's some esteemed writer.

Well he does literally have a book written and he’s a football analyst

Unless you watched Zidane all season and not just the games that mattered then you can’t really construct an argument against it

Andy Durham probably has a book.

So that's it then? Some guy on Twitter claims Zidane was no good over the course of 5 tweets and there is no arguement against it?

You're basing your opinion of Zidane off the back of 7 tweets and claiming it's gospel

Lol this generation is fvcked

Of course he did it longer, that's why I said peak RVP > peak Henry.

In terms of consistency no other striker in PL history comes close to Henry.

He was here for 8 seasons and won 4 Golden Boots, 50% Golden Boot ratio is absurd.

Just to put it in perspective, Aguero, who many now regard as one of the all time great PL strikers is in his 8th season with City but only has one Golden Boot so far.

Tbf you could then say peak Salah is the best player in pl history

Vava, Zidane is a world class, elite talent defo. But it can't be argued that he was inconsistent. He turned up in big games, which does make him the antithesis of Henry. His league form was unusually poor for a player considered one of the greatest of all time.

In his 5 years at Real, he won 1 league title and 1 UCL. This is the Madrid before the Messination of La Liga. And he was playing with Ronaldo, Raul, Figo, and Beckham..

Sorry Brandon. :(

I mean it’s not harsh to say that a player of Zidane’s calibre and magic he should’ve won more than one La Liga & CL with Madrid

Especially with the players around him

His best season at Madrid is 21 goal involvements in the League which is quality but he was capable of even better if he was more motivated vs pubbers

Tbh I am sure xavi or iniesta would laugh at suggestions they was as good as Zidane, probably because they appreciate the artistic side of football and they know technically he is just another level.

They was as effective though.

^ I'm sure two players who absolutely dominated La Liga and the UCL would laugh at the possibility of some people thinking they're better than a player who barely dominated La Liga.

Did I tell you that Iniesta is the only player in the world who's been named MOTM in all three finals—WC, UCL, and Euro final?

The Godfather movies are..... ok

Full Metal Jacket is a good movie

Ryanair is brilliant, what are you complaining about?

The UK should be a Federal Republic similar to the German model (with or without the Queen as nominal head of state, not really arsed either way).... with the constitute countries as States and with major cities having the option to become city states
