DD seems to think he could get away with the same catenaccio-esque football as in the 2018 World Cup semi final. Belgium being less naive, as well as the absence of Kanté is making that difficult. (Rabiot isn't a like-for-like replacement.)

1-2 France deserve their goal.

Tielemans, Witsel, and Hazard look like they're wearing concrete boots.

And now when the damage has been done, Martínez makes a change.

What's the deal with professional managers being oblivious to tiring players?

Anyway, 2-2 should make for an interesting viewing for the neutrals.

What a ball from Vanaken to set up Lukaku. :hail:

(He's not even left-footed.)

Nvm, Lukaku failed to stay onside. Sums up his second half.

It's more of a modern thing. When in winning positions, managers are skeptical to making changes. I'm sure the psychology behind it is not to disrupt team chemistry. But you have to make those calls, or risk playing with tired players.

It's happening all too often these days. Weird really.

Yes, it's almost as if managers are so occupied with the intricacies of the game that they fail to see or recognise what's right in front of them.

It hasn't been Belgium's day, again. Hit the woodwork thrice now.

The man is a winner as a player and a manager. He might look incompetent and has made some questionable decisions, but really is a throphy magnet. Juventus and the French national team are great teams with or without him, but winning CL with Marseilles and reaching CL finals with clubs like Monaco and Valencia are amazing achievement.
