this Spain team looks far more dangerous than the boring shot they produced for years.

You had no case the night Giroud lifted the world cup on a beautiful Sunday evening. Lol.

Anyway, now i've put that silly argument in the bin, this is a seriously impressive performance from Spain tonight.

They are still rotating yet still looking dominant. With the amount of talent they have they could definitely compete with France again. Their only issue is the lack of attacking quality but this Rodrigo looks a player.

Last couple of seasons, especially last season I couldn't wait for the international break cos Arsenal were awful but now I hate them again

Nevertheless England playing Spain and Croatia. England squad is a bit horrific and can see Spain doing what they did to Croatia.

In terms of meriting credence (zero) the NL is up there with the Club World Cup, Summer Olympics, Confederations Cup and the Ballon d'Or award.

Things that shouldn't be things. Commercial hogwash.

The sole pro is that your average NL fixture is generally more evenly-matched than is the case with your average national friendly.

Olympic gold would be special to win though regardless if football is really an Olympic sport

I think it's a bit better than just plain old friendlies, which don't really tell anyone anything. One team might come into it looking for a bit of a kick about, whilst the other might be right up for it.

At least with some sort of a competitive format there's something, albeit not very important, for each side to play for. I also like the idea of limiting the substitutes to three. The usual friendly game nonsense of changing ten players makes it a bit farcical.

In my opinion it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Posting it here as it's an on-going discussion.

I agree. There's no need for so many international breaks after the World Cup. We have another one in November ffs.

Don't really know why international football died, the format hasn't really changed since I was a kid yet it's f***ing dreadful now.

Agree with Phil though, think this UNL is a step in the right direction. Need to make the qualifying shit more competitive and scrap friendlies.

Even this isn't really being taken that seriously though with loads of players withdrawing so far ect.

It's ideal for the smaller counties, that's all.
