LOL people actually think he fully intended to dive?

Embarrassing.

He's clearly messed his kick up completely and stubbed the floor.

anyone who thinks he dived is a genuine r***rd or a genuine r***rd whos on the wind up. nevertheless theres some extra chromosomes flying about

the bloke misjudged his step and booted the floor, he didnt even appeal for it and came out after to say there was no contact

the career of raheem sterling, marginalised by people who have no clue about anything

More embarrassing that he didn't go n tell the ref it's not a pen, then that Gab Jesus actually scores.

Our lot would've kicked it for a throw or just pass to the keeper.

Yeah. He came out.. after the match ffs
If you just go along with getting the penalty than you are cheating just as much as diving

It's very rare that players go and tell the ref that they fell over after kicking the ground. That decision was down to shitty officiating and not Sterling. I've only just seen the highlights and thought it was worse that it is thanks to some members on here exxagerating things. Guys kicks ground, ref gives penalty. Nothing else to it.

Ok sweetie

I'll just nick your credit card and max it out

As long as I admit it afterwards it's ok. Right?

Anyone who thinks that they know what Sterling was thinking, and then calls others names because of it, is probably even more retarded.

It’s all the refs fault

If VAR was in the CL as it should be it would’ve been reversed with no action to anyone

Personally I would’ve wanted us to score a pen if we got a decision in our favour that clearly wasn’t right. Like Pires diving in the unbeaten season

Do what you’ve got to do to win, but clearly Raheem didn’t do it on purpose and if the officials don’t do their job then it’s not his problem

That's a stupid way to look at it.

Regardless, we're well within our rights to call him a cheating c*** for not telling the ref there was no contact

Looks like a dive to me. But for anyone to suggest they clearly know for sure either way is just pure ignorance. Only Sterling knows, and he hasn't exactly been the most honest player in the game in his career.

If he wanted to dive he would’ve just dived rather than blasting 3cm of turf out the ground with his foot. It happens all the time and usually a competent ref can spot it’s just an accident

I’m really not arsed about diving I’d want us to dive every game if it meant winning it, but there’s honestly no way he meant to kick the turf and win the pen, that’s just not how you think on a football pitch especially when you’re trying to dive

Got more chance of stubbing a toe than winning a pen, unfortunately the ref was an absolute conehead

That would be a massive stretch imo

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone intentionally hit the turf with their foot before in order to dive. It could be Ronaldo or Robben with their reputations as well, I’d defend them in this case too
